Biography

I graduated from W.P. Sandin Public High school located in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan. In high school, I participated as much as I could by playing many sports and contributing to different leadership councils. My love for softball began in kindergarten, and I spent countless hours perfecting my skills as a pitcher. I'm still proud of this as it serves as a reminder of what I'm capable of, and showed me what it feels like to strive for my best. I was also lucky enough to be a part of volleyball and softball teams that felt like family. I try to carry and spread the lessons I learned through their support whenever I work with others. Besides sports, I was also an active member of my student leadership council as soon as I got the chance, which was where I learned how much I enjoy contributing to a larger group. In my later high school years, I was asked to represent our school on the school board's students for change group. This was when I stepped out of my comfort zone and was able to develop as a leader, and from that I learned how to push myself to grow. I have fond memories of all these activities and would not be where I am today if I hadn't been a part of them.

I wasn't originally interested in engineering, but it turned out that was just because I didn't really know much about it. Problem-solving, math, creativity, and a love for learning were just a few of the "engineering" traits that I soon realized aligned with me. So far, I have enjoyed all of my classes and continue to be inspired what I learn. I hope to get as much as I can out of my degree by participating in various design projects, joining clubs, and I would love to do an internship abroad.

I'm expecting to discover during my degree what interests me most, so am currently keeping my mind open. I'm particularly interested in biomedical engineering, and would love to work in design or own my own business.

My family has always been and will always be my greatest support, and I am so grateful to them. I wouldn't be here without my parents who helped me to grow to become who I am today.
