Biography

Zaya graduated from the American School of Ulaanbaatar in Bator, Mongolia. While there, she served as the President of the National Honor Society, and the water house captain for the Student Council. She was also involved in sports and was awarded the Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Athlete of the Year awards, as well as multiple MVPs. Additionally, she worked as the macroeconomics co-director at the Future Business Leaders of Mongolia Competition.

She chose UCalgary because it provides high-quality education and career opportunities through co-op programs, research projects, and a welcoming community. She wanted to gain valuable skills and knowledge through research, compelling courses, and joining the co-op program.

Zaya is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program, majoring in Business. She decided to enroll in this program because she grew up watching her mother operate her business, which made Zaya want to operate her own business someday.

Zaya wants to acquire the knowledge and skills required to start and run her own business and bring positive changes to her community.

For Zaya, the Prestige Award has not only pushed her to work harder, it also motivated her to seek all opportunities to make a lasting change at UCalgary.

Zaya is interested in researching and learning about how government can impact the well-being of a country’s economy and poverty level.
