Biography
Azmath graduated from the American International School in Dubai, UAE. While there, he was named the valedictorian and was the President of the Career Committee. He always played for a football club.
Azmath chose to study at UCalgary because of its reputation for having one of the best campuses and one of the best Engineering programs in Canada. Additionally, he found the work-life balance admirable, which was a big factor for him in choosing his destination for post-secondary.
Azmath is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. He chose this because it is ranked as one of the top institutions in Canada and the world, allowing him to pursue a career by making lifelong connections and learning from a world-renowned program.
Azmath intends to pursue a career in Software Engineering because he is interested in problem-solving and critical thinking. Specifically, he wants to develop something which could help solve vital problems we face as a society.
The Prestige Award allows Azmath to focus fully on his education without worrying about other aspects of university life. He is very grateful for this opportunity because it reduces the heavy burden on his parents, who are the reason Azmath is here.
Azmath is most excited to learn about the broad possibilities of AI and machine learning and how far automation can take us in our daily lives. He is interested in studying how automating the tedious tasks which occupy our days, and making difficult tasks simpler, allows people to focus on things like family and being active.
Azmath wants to take the opportunity to express his gratefulness to his parents, without which he would not be in the place he is today. The sacrifices they made for him allowed him to have the best possible education he could receive. He vows to do everything he can to fulfill their dreams and give them the life they deserve.
