Graduate walking across the stage

eParchments

Your eParchment is a permanent, official digital record—secure, shareable and always accessible.

Congratulations, Graduate!

You’ve worked hard to earn your degree—and now it’s time to celebrate!

You’ll receive both a paper parchment and a digital version called an eParchment. Official eParchments are issued through MyCreds | MesCertif, Canada’s digital credential platform, and are uploaded to your MyCreds digital wallet on the MyCreds.ca portal.

Your eParchment will become available within one month of your convocation (or conferral) date. When it’s ready, you’ll receive an email notification from MyCreds sent to your UCalgary email address. It will have instructions on how to access your document.

MyCreds allows you to securely access, download and share your eParchment with third parties who require proof of your credential. Your eParchment is provided at no cost.

Accessing your eParchment

Step 1: Check your UCalgary email

We’ll send your eParchment to your UCalgary student email once it is loaded to the MyCreds platform. Make sure to check your inbox—and your spam or junk folder—so you don’t miss it!

Step 2: Create your MyCreds wallet

Follow the link in the MyCreds email to access your MyCreds digital wallet. That’s where your eParchment is stored securely. The first time you log in, you’ll be asked to set up your account.

Tip: Use your UCalgary email for your first login to ensure it links to your credential.

Step 3: Link your personal email

Your UCalgary email access will eventually expire, so it’s a good idea to add a personal email address to your MyCreds account. This way, you’ll always have access to your eParchment for job applications, grad school, licensing and more.

How to link your personal email:

  1. Log in to your MyCreds wallet.
  2. Go to account settings.
  3. Add your personal email address under linked accounts.
  4. Verify the email and set it as your primary login for future access.

Your credential is protected. You can safely share it with employers, schools, or licensing organizations—right from your MyCreds account.

Viewing and sharing your eParchment

When you get an email saying your eParchment is ready, just log in to your MyCreds account. To share it, click Share and enter the recipient’s email address.

If you run into any issues, you can check the how-to videos on the MyCreds website for help.

Your recipient

Your recipient will get an email from MyCreds letting them know you’ve sent a document. They can click the link in the email to view or download your eParchment.

How your eParchment is shared

You control how your document is shared. You can choose who can access it, how long they can view it, and add a PIN for extra security. You can also send it directly to another post-secondary institution through the MyCreds™ platform (if the school is part of the MyCreds network).

FAQs

Currently, eParchments are only available for those who have graduated since 2022 and have been automatically issued an eParchment. We hope to offer eParchments to earlier graduates soon.

UCalgary only uses the legal name of a student on the parchment. See Section B.16 Change of Personal Information for more information. Names are printed in upper case lettering in the following order: Given name(s) and surname. The use of an initial in place of a given name isn’t permitted. Any changes to the name currently on file with the Registrar’s Office must be supported by approved documentation.

Your eParchment is issued based on the same official records as your physical parchment, so it should not contain any errors.

If you notice incorrect information, please first review your official student record to confirm its accuracy. If you have recently updated your legal name and ordered and paid for a degree reprint through the Office of the Registrar, you can contact the Convocation Office at convinfo@ucalgary.ca to request an updated eParchment.

Note: Your eParchment will only be updated once your name change has been processed and a reprinted parchment has been issued.

For more information on updating your name or ordering a reprint, visit the Graduation Documents page.

All graduates still receive an official paper parchment as part of the graduation process. If you attend your convocation ceremony, your parchment will be presented to you in person. If you aren’t attending, it will be mailed or made available for pickup based on the selection you made when applying to graduate.

The eParchment is an added digital convenience. It’s a secure, easily shareable version of your credential, but it doesn’t replace your paper parchment.

For more information on parchment delivery options, visit the graduation documents page.

Minors, approved concentrations and undergraduate specializations won’t be indicated on degrees. They will be noted on your official transcript.

Use of information and privacy

By requesting or sharing your eParchment, you agree to allow UCalgary to share your legal name, student ID, email address, full academic record and official transcript with MyCreds™. All personal information that’s collected is used, stored and destroyed in accordance with the University of Calgary Privacy Policy.
