Final exam schedule

Schedule release

Final exam schedules are released approximately one month after the start of the term. Exam locations are released close to the start of the exam period.

How to access

The final exam schedule is only available in your Student Centre. It will no longer be posted on UCalgary websites.

Before exam day

What to bring

Bring only what you need for your exam.

Photo ID: Bring your UniCard or a government-issued photo ID for your exam.

Writing materials: Pens, pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners.

Instructor-approved aids: Bring only aids approved by your instructor, such as a calculator or textbooks.

Coat (if needed): You may bring a coat. Place it on the back of your chair and empty all pockets.

What not to bring

Don't bring items that aren't allowed in the exam room. Bring only items your instructor has approved for the exam.

Bags and large items: Bags, backpacks and other large items aren't allowed in the exam room. Don't leave them in hallways or at the back of classrooms. Store them at home, in a locker or in another secure location. Items left in hallways may be removed for safety reasons.

Electronic devices: Don't bring laptops, cell phones, wireless devices, headsets, smartwatches or other electronic items.

Unauthorized materials: Don't bring books, notes or other materials.

The university isn't responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

Academic integrity bags

Integrity bags are made available outside of the gyms to store personal items. The clear plastic bag fits items such as a laptop, textbook or wallet. Turn off all electronics before placing them in the bag. Place the bag under your chair and don't open it during the exam. Students are encouraged to reuse integrity bags for future exams.

During the exam

Exam instructions

Follow all instructions provided by the invigilator (exam supervisor), including when to start the exam and when to stop writing.

You must stay in the exam room for the first 30 minutes. After that, you may leave if you finish early. If you're in the exam room during the final 15 minutes, you must remain seated until the exam is concluded. An invigilator will collect your exam.

Direct all questions and requests to an invigilator.

Academic misconduct

The following actions may result in academic misconduct:

  • Speaking or communicating with other students
  • Leaving answer papers exposed for other students to view
  • Attempting to read other students’ exam papers
  • Bringing in unauthorized materials, including books and electronic devices

Illness or exam issues

If you can't write your final exam because of illness, you may qualify for a deferred exam. Please note, requests for cancellation of a final examination are not considered once 50% of the examination duration has lapsed. If you're feeling unwell during an examination, you must promptly report to the course instructor (or equivalent), submit the incomplete examination, and request the examination be cancelled.

Requests to cancel an exam after the exam has been completed won’t be considered.
