Biography

Tristan graduated from Henry Wise Wood High School. While there, he worked with K & E Learners to help them develop real-world skills. He also graduated with honours in all three years throughout high school. Additionally, he expressed himself through composing pieces on guitar.

Tristan chose to study at UCalgary for its biomedical engineering program as well as his passion for medicine and technology. He was also aware of UCalgary’s position as one of the top research institutions in Canada and he hoped to take part in the opportunities to gain more experience.

Tristan is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program and plans to major in Biomedical Engineering. He chose this program to pursue a future in the biotech field so he can contribute efforts toward the advancement of technology in medicine.

For Tristan, the prestige award alleviates the financial burden of education. It allows him to pursue his interests freely while dedicating himself to his extracurriculars and academics.

Tristan is most excited to learn about how technology and innovation can be used to improve our lives. Research and discussion about implementing technology in medicine such as biochips and artificial intelligence in devices have always been a topic of interest for him.

Tristan is grateful for the opportunities the scholarship opens for him and plans on taking full advantage of this to pursue his passions.
