The Nation Building Scholarships Series has been established by the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) in recognition of the important role to be played by engineers in the building of our nation given the technical challenges created by the geographical extent of the country, its low population density and its northern climate. This scholarship series is sponsored by the CAE, through the generous support from the CAE members and the CAE Board. The scholarship for Northern Infrastructure is the first scholarship of the series, established specifically to encourage and recognize undergraduate students who showed a special interest in their career path, volunteer activities, work experience and/or community leadership, in equipping the North with infrastructure that would open up new opportunities for economic development and make northern communities more livable and sustainable. Applicants will be judged on academic and leadership achievements, answers provided in the application form and intent to pursue a career towards the development of infrastructure in the North.
