Awards, scholarships and bursaries

Awards, scholarships and bursaries can reduce the cost of your education and lighten the financial burden of student loans and tuition. They can also provide recognition of your hard-earned academic achievements.

Awards, scholarships, and bursaries overview

The Student Success Centre hosts a free workshop called “Awards, Scholarships, and Funding Opportunities” for UCalgary students.  This session provides an overview of competition processes, selection criteria, and common components of an award application. UCalgary will apply to the Government of Canada international scholarship on behalf of the candidate, when the call opens and deadlines are known.

If you require help filling out the application or have questions, please contact University of Calgary International (UCI) at UCI is the UCalgary representative authorized and responsible for submitting all applications and supporting documents on behalf of interested individuals.

Note: UCI sets an internal deadline for prospective applicants to submit all their documents, which will be earlier than the official date on the EduCanada website.

Candidates don't need to apply for admission to UCalgary before submitting a scholarship application. However, should a candidate be selected for a scholarship, it's your responsibility to apply for admission to UCalgary. Many candidates choose to apply for admission earlier, to ensure they have adequate time to process immigration documents.
