International Student Orientation

The UCalgary International Student Services team looks forward to welcoming new international students each fall and winter term.

Welcome to UCalgary

International Student Services will be hosting International student orientation sessions for international students throughout Spring/Summer and the start of Fall.

Meet UCalgary advisors and staff and get to know the student support available to you. We'll discuss Canadian immigration, travel restrictions, work regulations for employment, Canadian classroom culture, living in Calgary, wellness supports, and social activities for students.

Welcome Centre

The Welcome Centre is a short-run transition program for incoming students new to living in Calgary. We open every year in August and January and close when the term begins.

The Welcome Centre (MSC 275) returns on January 2, 2026!

New-to-Calgary students can visit the Welcome Centre for resources on campus and city life. During the Fall semester Welcome Centre, we also hosts drop-in social events that are open to all students! Visit the Welcome Centre website for more information on upcoming events. Lean more
