Hawazen Alharbi, PhD

Dr. Hawazen Alharbi is an assistant professor in the department of Educational Technology at King Abdulaziz University. She completed her PhD in Educational Technology at Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and completed her Master of Science in Instructional Technology at Wilkes University, Pa.

Hawazen is passionate about providing flexible and accessible professional development opportunities for faculty members, particularly to graduate supervisors. Her PhD research focused on designing, developing and evaluating the Quality Graduate Supervision miniMOOC as a pilot study at the University of Calgary, which was the seed for this learning opportunity.

Hawazen’s research interests focus on designing and developing faculty professional development, designing and evaluating MOOCs, design-based research, graduate supervision research and integrating technology in teaching and learning.
