Our impact
Our research on the Quality Graduate Supervision MOOC is aimed at increasing the quality of graduate education by enhancing graduate supervisors’ mentoring and training practices. Via ongoing design and evaluation of accessible and inclusive online faculty development, our research directly impacts supervision practices and generates original knowledge about faculty learning in interdisciplinary communities of practice. Importantly, our research is generating impact by strengthening supervision that supports graduate students’ academic success, timely completion of program, knowledge mobilization and grant writing, and career preparation. Our design-based research focuses on implementing innovations in graduate mentorship, teaching, and learning through the ongoing design, development, and evaluation of this online course for graduate supervisors at the University of Calgary and Athabasca University.
