When you donate to the University of Calgary, you’re investing in the community — and on UCalgary Giving Day, your gift can have double the impact! Whether supporting scholarships, faculties, research or any one of our other designated funds, all Giving Day donations made by April 22, 2021, will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $2,500 per gift while matching funds last.
Since its launch in 2017, Giving Day has raised more than $4 million to create lasting, positive change — on campus, in the community and beyond — by elevating student experiences, advancing research and accelerating innovation.
Frequently asked questions
Eligible Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar in the same area, up to a maximum of $2,500 per gift. For example, a $100 gift will be matched with $100, and a $5,000 gift will be matched with $2,500. All eligible gifts will automatically be matched until we run out of matching funds.
Each faculty has identified priority needs for their faculty and the funds that support them to make giving easier.
New funds can be established in the form of named student awards. A minimum pledge amount of $10,000 with minimum of $2,000 payment received before end of day on April 22, 2021 is required to establish a named award, and our team will work with you to establish the terms of reference.

There is no minimum donation amount. All gifts – big or small – make an impact.
Yes. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $25 or more.
Donors are advised to consult with an accountant; however, more information about tax credits is available here.
No, you have until April 22nd to make your contribution.
Once you've made an online gift, you will receive a confirmation email that the donation transaction is successfully completed. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please email give@ucalgary.ca and we will look into this for you. Tax receipts will be emailed by end of May. After Giving Day is over, we will share updates to let you how your gift is making a difference.
Our systems are fully PCI compliant and secure. Information collected is only used by UCalgary and will not be sold or shared with any third-party organization. Your credit card information will not be stored.
