Leadership and Student Engagement
The LSE is committed to helping every student thrive. Through new student orientation, facilitating peer connections in leadership and student life programming, and serving the community through ucalgarycares, the LSE connects students to one another, and to the wider campus community.
Whether you’re an established leader or just starting out, our programs support the development of leaders to channel their unique strengths, contribute to their communities and overcome challenges. Join us for on-demand workshops, year-long mentorship programs, our annual student leadership conference and much more.
Orientation & Involvement
Transitions, such as starting university, are part of the student experience, and we want you to be successful. Fall Orientation is designed to help you thrive academically, personally and socially. Also, take advantage of year-round resources from the Online Orientation portal, and offer feedback as part of First Year Council.
We want you to feel inspired, engaged and empowered to act within your community. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or looking to get involved, we offer programs from one-day service projects in Calgary to intensive explorations of social issues through ucalgarycares at home, in Toronto, Costa Rica and the Yukon.
Developing a supportive network of friends and mentors will enrich your time on campus. Our Student Life programs foster a sense of community and connectedness with drop-in programming from the weekly meet-up style Unwind events, to the Last Lecture series, social Meet-Ups and the end-of-year UCalgaryStrong Festival.
Make the most of your university experience. Get involved!
Academics is an important part of your experience at UCalgary, but it isn’t everything. Whether you’re learning about extra-curricular activities that suit your interests in one of our Involvement Advising appointments, or how to locate and record volunteer opportunities using the Involvement Portal and Co-Curricular Record, be sure to connect with us if you’re looking to make your time at university the best it can be.
