Biography
I am an Art History major and very passionate about art in all forms. Coming from a Métis and Colombian background, I found that the visual culture and the music I was surrounded by growing up helped me most connect to who I am at my core in a world where that was often very confusing to locate. Through difficult times, both practicing and studying art has offered an outlet through which to be creative and think about the world in ways I otherwise would not. In my work, I have been enthusiastic about sharing the ways in which art can empower, especially with other Indigenous youth, which I was lucky enough to do in my past role as Ótáp ímisskaan Ambassador for the Writing Symbols Lodge.
