My research project is looking at barriers and facilitators to implementing an integrated injury and health surveillance system for varsity athletes within Canada. The new platform is called the Canadian Integrated Injury and Health Surveillance System (Can-IIHSS). We hope to inform injury and concussion prevention, and early identification of mental health concerns for Canadian varsity athletes. As the implementation of an injury surveillance system can be challenging, there is a need to understand the barriers and facilitators to modify the system to provide education tools to facilitate ease of implementing surveillance protocols.
