Diversity

This is your creation - and it's just as unique and special as you are. You don't want to kill all your dark areas they are very important. Even the worst thing we can do here is good.

Diversity

A new one-year contingent term faculty research position was created in the Division of Psychosocial Oncology to further the work on patient ethnicity and health. The position was funded by the International Advisory Committee on Research, Alberta Cancer Research Institute to Dr. Marcy Winget, Research Leader, Community Oncology, Alberta Health Services. The fund was used to recruit Dr. Bejoy Thomas, to the position. Dr. Thomas was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department supervised by Drs Barry Bultz and Linda Carlson, and funded by Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions (formerly AHFMR). His work on patient ethnicity and its impact on health outcomes has spearheaded a fourth dimension under the Enbridge Chair that cuts across all three of the said priorities. Dr. Thomas’ work has had substantial media attention in the past and is creating substantial impact in ethnocultural research in cancer care across Canada.

All of these programs are designed to reduce the suffering that cancer patients face throughout the disease trajectory, from the time of diagnosis through screening for distress and appropriate triage to support services, to the time of active treatment through participation in integrative oncology interventions, and through discharge and survivorship by creating seamless care plans and support programs.

This is truly an almighty mountain

Just let go - and fall like a little waterfall.

You need the dark in order to show the light. The shadows are just like the highlights, but we're going in the opposite direction. Anyone can paint. All you need to paint is a few tools, a little instruction, and a vision in your mind. Let that brush dance around there and play.

Isn't it fantastic that you can change your mind and create all these happy things? Clouds are free. They just float around the sky all day and have fun. Let's put some happy trees and bushes back in here. All you need is a dream in your heart, and an almighty knife.

Painting should do one thing. It should put happiness in your heart.

Trees grow however makes them happy. Zip. That easy. Tree trunks grow however makes them happy. We spend so much of our life looking - but never seeing. Anything you want to do you can do here. Let's have a little bit of fun today. Let's make a happy little mountain now. Put light against light - you have nothing. Put dark against dark - you have nothing. It's the contrast of light and dark that each give the other one meaning. There are no limits in this world.
