UCalgary research changes the world

Hunter Student Commons is the latest addition to the innovation ecosystem being nurtured and cultivated across UCalgary.

In January 2022, UCalgary was named the youngest top 5 research university in Canada.  

We are #1 for creating startups. And, each year, UCalgary brings in over $500 million in research investment to Calgary.  

Now, with Hunter Student Commons, we have a permanent home for the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking. Our innovation ecosystem also includes Creative Destruction Lab – Rockies, Innovate Calgary and a network of supporters for researchers to pursue innovation.  

By supporting innovation from ideation to community impact, were helping implement ideas to diversify and support Calgary’s economy.
