Who is considered a Related Person?

  • A Related Person is an individual who is directly associated with another individual and includes:
    • a parent, sibling and child of the individual
    • a spouse or domestic partner of the individual
    • any other person who is directly associated with the individual (e.g. a close personal friend, a romantic or sexual partner).

 

Can I supervise Related Persons?

No. An Employee, Academic Staff Member (including a sessional) or Appointee must not supervise a Related Person.

 

Can I be involved in the recruitment, selection, or review of a Related Person?

No. An Employee, Academic Staff Member (including a sessional), Appointee, Student or Volunteer Appointee must not be involved in the recruitment, selection, or review of a Related Person.
