Development Courses

Relationships are built one conversation at a time but some conversations are more difficult than others. Conversations that involve strong emotions, differing perspectives, and delicate topics can be challenging. This interactive workshop will prepare you with practical strategies and skills to approach these conversation with curiosity, clarity, and compassion.

Respectful conduct is a critical component of developing a healthy, energetic and productive campus community. This workshop focuses on competencies and strategies to enhance the personal and leadership effectiveness of employees and workplace culture. This session is very interactive, practical and supportive.

Health & Wellbeing Courses

This workshop is designed to equip participants with resources and strategies to improve health and wellbeing in the workplace. Explore connections between health and wellbeing and our work and discuss what UCalgary employees can do to improve wellbeing at an individual level and a community/organizational culture levels. Additionally, this course will support employees in becoming familiar with Staff Wellness, the Campus Mental Health Strategy and other resources at UCalgary.

Intended Audience: All UCalgary Employees

Delivery Mode: In-person or Virtual Synchronous 

Time Commitment: 1.5 hours

As the U of C continues to focus on a healthy campus and workplace, this workshop aims to increase awareness of mental health, reduce the stigma of mental illness and offer resources to maintain positive mental health. In this course, we will explore mental health, the stigmas associated with it and how to maintain your own mental health and improve your resilience.

Intended Audience: All UCalgary Employees

Delivery Mode: In-person or Virtual Synchronous 

Time Commitment: 4.5 hours

Connect to Perform Courses

At the University of Calgary we have evolved our performance management framework to focus on development and growth, connect individual efforts to the success of the faculty/unit, and enable individuals to perform to the best of their abilities. Intended for all employees and managers, this course includes five 25-30 minute eLearning modules. Each module explores a different topic and includes examples of how you can practice what you have learned. We recommend completing the course in order, but you may also choose a specific module to complete at any time.

Intended audience: All UCalgary Employees

Delivery Mode: Asynchronous 

Time Commitment: 2.5 hours

PeopleSoft and Process Courses

The completion of the eProcurement Certification Training is necessary in order to be granted access to the eProcurement system in PeopleSoft (PSAR - Roleset: PO_PURCHASE_REQ_INITIATOR). After completing this course, you will be able to request a new supplier, procure goods or services using eProcurement and manage your requisitions.

Intended Audience: All UCalgary Employees

Delivery Mode: Asynchronous 

Time Commitment: 30 minutes

This course describes an overview of the e-procurement process and includes entering, submitting, workflow approvals, procurement rules, receiving & centralized receiving and finally payment. This course will walk you through how to enter different types of requisitions in the PeopleSoft system.

Intended Audience: All UCalgary Employees

Delivery Mode: Virtual Synchronous 

Time Commitment: 2 hours

Learn about expense claims from start to finish: entering, submitting (electronically and hard copy), workflow approvals and finally payment. This course will walk you through how to enter different types of expense claims in the PeopleSoft system.
