Frequently Asked Questions

ULearn was developed for UCalgary employees to build skills on the job and enhance our rich culture of learning. For more information on ULearn, please connect with support below.

The ULearn program and course offerings were refreshed to better meet the evolving needs of our campus community. The new and updated courses are designed to provide up-to-date skills and knowledge that align more closely with current professional and organizational demands.

The changes are aimed at providing more relevant and up-to-date training that addresses the current challenges and opportunities faced by UCalgary employees. The refreshed curriculum is designed to enhance professional skills and better support career development.

All employees are welcome to participate in the ULearn programs, which are divided into three core learning streams: UBegin, UGrow, and ULead. These professional development courses are designed to benefit employees at every stage of their career, regardless of their role or department.

Manager approval is not required to enroll in learning opportunities in Enterprise Learning. However, please coordinate with your manager to schedule these learning opportunities at times that are most convenient and appropriate.

Reference guides on how to enroll for ULearn courses through Enterprise Learning are available here. For additional assistance, please contact hr@ucalgary.ca.

How will the changes affect me and what support will be available to help me finish my current program?

If you are already halfway through a UProgram course, we will work with you to help you complete your program. We can offer alternative course options, and possibly independent study opportunities to ensure you can complete the program without disruption. Please contact ulearn@ucalgary.ca

The transition to new courses will be gradual. Existing programs will be phased out over a period to allow current participants to complete their courses.

At this time, we do not plan to offer the previous UPrograms again. The focus is on providing new, updated courses that better align with the current needs of our campus community.

If a required course is no longer offered, we will provide alternative options such as equivalent courses or independent study opportunities to help you meet your program requirements. Please contact ulearn@ucalgary.ca.
