This workshop has been designed to help you develop a wide range of skills for effectively managing difficult emotions and interpersonal situations. We will learn and practice skills adapted from a form of therapy called Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. We will explore tools for being more mindful, effective communication, and building assertiveness. As we know, strong interpersonal skills are important for achieving personal and career goals; having these skills also makes life more enjoyable. Please join us if this workshop would be a good fit for you!

This workshop has a capacity of 15 students.
Facilitated by Kaitlin van Geel, MEd, RPsych, Counsellor with Student Wellness Services.
In this one hour workshop you will learn more about exam anxiety, the impact it has on you, and ways you can manage it. We will focus on your health & wellness, managing your thoughts, active coping, relaxation skills, and test taking skills.
This workshop is available to current undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Calgary. This workshop is not available to alumni, faculty, or staff.

Recovery College focuses on helping people recognize and develop their own resourcefulness and awareness in order to support themselves or their loved one’s recovery journey.
Everyone is welcome to attend these free courses and drop-in classes. No previous experience is required and with more than 30 courses to choose from, there is a course for everyone.
