Join Student Wellness for a quick virtual workshop where you’ll learn about the many wellness resources and services available to you as a UCalgary student. Whether you’re wondering about how to book an appointment, what supports and services are offered on campus, or just want to learn how to take better care of yourself, this session will show you how Student Wellness can help you feel your best - on campus and beyond!

Kickstart your university journey with the IGNITE Program, a free 4-week Health Promotion initiative offered through Student Wellness, designed to foster social connections, boost awareness of UCalgary’s health and wellness resources, and provide opportunities to improve your own fitness routine and overall wellbeing.

Applications for the Fall 2025 IGNITE Program are open to First Year UCalgary Undergraduate Students. Applications close Monday, September 22 at 8:30 a.m.

Join the Health Promotion & Outreach Team for a 30-minute walk around campus as we connect with nature and admire the beautiful fall colors! Get ready to meet new people, familiarize yourself with the campus, all while completing 30 minutes of exercise. Enjoy a free coffee at TFDL Good Earth at the end of the walk. 

Join Student Wellness for afree Spin Class hosted by Active Living! Whether you are new to fitness classes or a cycling pro, this session is a great way to get active and connect with fellow UCalgary students. 

This 1-hour workshop will explore:

  • Harm Reduction as an overall approach.
  • Strategies for safer substance use related to alcohol and cannabis.
  • Supports and resources both on- and off-campus
  • This training is open to current students, faculty, and staff at the University of Calgary. This workshop will not be recorded.

November 5, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Learn about Naloxone in this free, in-person session led by trained staff. Practice is optional, and all comfort levels are respected. Take home a Naloxone kit and get a certificate upon completion!

Take a break and recharge with Student Wellness at this fun and interactive self-care workshop! We will start with a 30-minute workshop where we will explore what self-care really means and how to make it work for you. Then we will get creative with a relaxing tote bag decorating activity. 

In this one-hour workshop you will learn more about exam anxiety, the impact it has on you, and ways you can manage it. We will focus on your health & wellness, managing your thoughts, active coping, relaxation skills, and test taking skills.

Join Student Wellness in recognition of World Mental Health Day for an engaging workshop presented by the Canadian Mental Health Association. This session will break down common misconceptions surrounding mental health and mental illness, while encouraging a proactive and preventative approach to overall wellness.

Join Student Wellness for a practical and energizing workshop led by Active Living — a fun way to stay motivated and keep moving! We’ll kick things off with a fun icebreaker to help you connect with other students! This session is designed to give you a taste of personalized coaching in a supportive, team environment. You’ll challenge yourself with a variety of strength, cardio, and functional training exercises while working alongside fellow students.

This workshop will help you shift your relationship with uncertainty by offering perspectives and strategies to address the unknown with courage and confidence. Join Student Wellness for a fun and interactive workshop led by Active Living! This session will explore tips and strategies to help you create a personalized fitness plan that fits your lifestyle and personal goals. 

Join the SU Food Bank, Student Wellness Services and Campus Food Hub for an engaging and hands-on workshop led by nutritionist Carrie Mullin Innes. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use nutritionally dense protein using beans and pulses along with other items from a food hamper into multiple meals to get you through your week. You’ll walk away with food preparation skills, nutrition tips and some food to fuel you!

Join Student Wellness for a dynamic workshop led by the Canadian Mental Health Association that dives into the world of stress—what it is, how it shows up in your life, and what you can do about it. 

Join Student Wellness for a free yoga class hosted by Active Living designed to help you unwind, recharge, and reconnect with your body and mind just in time for finals. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned yogi, this session is a perfect way to boost your mood and de-stress.

Workshops in the community

Recovery College focuses on helping people recognize and develop their own resourcefulness and awareness in order to support themselves or their loved one’s recovery journey.

Everyone is welcome to attend these free courses and drop-in classes. No previous experience is required and with more than 30 courses to choose from, there is a course for everyone.
