How to Apply

The Radiation Oncology Physics specialty of the Department of Physics and Astronomy accepts students into the program.  Applicants must apply through the University of Calgary.  It is not necessary to contact professors individually in order to apply.

The selection of supervisor and research project is made during the student’s first Fall Term in the program and reflects the interests of both the student and the supervisor.  For more information about professors in our program and their research interests, see the PEOPLE and RESEARCH links above.

Graduate and Certificate Programs

The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers an on-line application system for admission to the department through the Faculty of Graduate Studies  which is the administrative unit responsible for all graduate students in the University of Calgary. It is the only unit that can formally admit an applicant into graduate school in Calgary, and it is the unit that must approve all candidates before they receive a graduate degree.  Please follow the instructions carefully and ensure that all supporting documents are forwarded to the department as requested. Applications without all required documentation are considered incomplete and not available for review by the department

International Students

If you are an international student, please refer to the International Centre for more information.

Deadlines

Application forms and supporting documents are due:

Graduate Program:  January 15th for September admission.

Certificate Program:  January 15th for September admission.

Separate deadlines apply for scholarships, fellowships, and bursaries. For internal (University of Calgary) fellowships, the deadline is February 1. If you are unable to meet that deadline, alternative funding opportunities are available.
