Move-in Volunteers

Residence move-in is one of the most exciting events at the University of Calgary each year. This year we will welcome home over 3,000 students to their new home at UCalgary with just over 1,300 arriving on Move-in Day.

Volunteers make students' move-in day welcoming and an event to remember. If you would like to volunteer your energy and enthusiasm to Move-in 2024, complete the registration form below. 

• Sunday, August 25, 2024, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Volunteers will receive breakfast, lunch, snacks and water through out the day
• Volunteers will also receive a residence move-in shirt along with a free voucher that can be used at The Landing anytime during 2024/2025 Academic year
• There are two volunteer positions available:
  • Relocation Technician: Relocation Technicians will help residents move items from the vehicles to their residence rooms. This position will involve lots of interacting with residents and families, while helping move their personal items to their new room in residence. Knowledge of campus and the University is a good asset. This will be the first time that residents and parents have had long interactions with staff and students at UCalgary, so there may be many questions. 
  • Check-in Crew: Check-in Crew (CIC) is the first point of contact for students and families to residence on move-in day. Staff that work in this area should be very friendly, out going and welcoming. At this location, CIC will get the key package for the resident at the drive-through, talk to them about move-in, events for the day and answer any questions they may have. Once complete, they will send the vehicle to their building to move their items in. 

Residents that volunteer for move-in day will be able to move-in on Saturday, August 24.
