Sensory-Friendly Spaces on Campus
Sensory-friendly spaces at the University of Calgary are dedicated, calming environments that provide a peaceful refuge for individuals who experience sensory sensitivities.
These spaces aim to reduce overwhelming stimuli such as loud noises, bright lights, and busy visuals, offering a safe and quiet area for anyone needing a break from the hustle and bustle of campus life. Sensory-friendly spaces may include adjustable lighting, flexible seating, study zones, and various sensory tools. It is an inclusive resource to support the mental and emotional health of the UCalgary community, ensuring everyone has a space where they can recharge and focus.
