First Year Applicants

Students applying that have recently graduated from high school and are under the age of 21.

Students that are classified as a first year resident that apply on or prior to May 1, are guaranteed their first year in residence.

First year residents that apply on or before May 1, will be put into a lottery based on their room preference. Residents that win the lottery will be offered a spot for that room type. Those that did not win the lottery, will be offered a traditional double room and be kept on a waitlist for their preferred room type, based on their lottery number.

Those that apply after May 1 will be offered a traditional double room if space is available.

The first set of offers will be emailed out early May. The offer will state the room type that the applicant has been placed into. Residents will then have a couple of weeks to accept the offer and pay a $1000 advance payment to hold the room. The advance payment is not due until an offer of residence has been received.

Throughout the spring/summer, students can visit the Resident Portal to see residence offer dates.

Actual room number and building information will be sent out in early August.

You can request roommates on your application in the Roommate Preferences section. To be placed with a roommate, both applicants must mutually request each other on the application.

Search for roommates by details: enter your friend's screen name to find them in the system and make the request.

Browse for matching roommates: complete the Personal Details questionnaire and the system will present profiles the most closely match yours. Choose someone and they will receive an email asking if they would like to accept your request.

We suggest to look for roommates in June if you do not know anyone specific to live with.
