Early Rehabilitation utilizing visual and vestibular technology following traumatic brain injury

What are we trying to find out?

The aim of this study is to: Evaluate difficulties with vision, inner ear-eye reflexes and processing of visual information that may occur following traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Who is participating in this study?

Individuals 6 – 50 years of age who have recently sustained a traumatic brain injury or aged 6 - 50 years of age who have been injury free the past 3 months.

Why are we doing this research?

There is little research evaluating the types of problems that may occur to the visual and balance systems following a TBI as well as the effectiveness of treatment for these areas. There is some emerging research showing that balance and vision treatment may help with recovery after a TBI.

What do participants have to do?

You will be asked to complete a series of evaluations that include detailed clinical measures as well as novel technological measures that evaluate vision and the ability to see clearly with head motion. These evaluations will be repeated at 8 weeks and 6 months.
