Eric Gibson

Eric Gibson completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science at the University of Calgary. Eric completed two studentships with the O’Brien Institute for Public Health & Ward of the 21st Century, as well as three funded studentships with the Orthopaedic Surgery team at the South Health Campus. Here, he collaborated on projects relating to shoulder surgery and patient-specific factors/outcomes. Eric went on to complete his MSc under Dr. Kati Pasanen, focusing on shoulder and upper extremity injury in youth sport (focusing on ice hockey and collision sports). Eric has participated in prospective data collection, systematic reviews, survey design, case reporting, data analysis, manuscript preparation, invited peer review, and the presentation/dissemination of research findings.

As of January 2024, Eric will begin his PhD focusing on youth musculoskeletal injuries in the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre with Dr. Carolyn Emery!
