Ari Pandes
Associate Professor, Area Chair (Finance), Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary
As Associate Professor and Area Chair of Finance at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business, Ari Pandes, PhD, teaches finance to BComm, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD students. His research focuses on corporate finance, law and finance and entrepreneurial finance. His expertise often lands him on various media outlets where he offers insights and perspectives related to different current affairs topics. Before joining the Haskayne School, he completed his PhD and MA in Economics at the Schulich School of Business at York University and his BA in Economics at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. As an academic, he has received research grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Canadian Securities Institute Research Foundation. He has also won the Bank of Canada’s best paper award on two occasions, as well as best paper awards from the CFA Society Toronto and Hillsdale Canadian Investment Research Awards.
