Dr. Zain Kassam, MD

Dr. Zain Kassam is an entrepreneur, investor, and physician-scientist at the intersection of medicine, biological engineering, and computer science. He has built and led first-in-field platform companies that have scaled globally to treat 65,000+ patients, resulted in an upsized IPO on NASDAQ with a peak market capitalization of $1B, secured pharmaceutical partnerships using AI/machine learning and driven phase I-III clinical trials. He is the Co-Founder and former Chief Medical Officer at both Finch Therapeutics and OpenBiome, and a mentor at Creative Destruction Labs.

Dr. Kassam received the 2020 Public Health Innovator Alumni Award from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and was named to the prestigious Top 40 under 40 Healthcare Innovator List by MedTech. He received his MPH degree from Harvard University and completed post-doctoral training at MIT. Dr. Kassam was awarded his MD from Western University and completed his Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology training at McMaster University.
