The leaders in indigenous cancer research from Canada and Australia discussed current issues in psychosocial care and research with indigenous populations. The three-day lecture series included two speakers plus a moderated discussion and Q & A sessions on each of May 12th and 13th, and culminates with a keynote talk from Dr. Caron followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q & A with all speakers on Friday May 14th.

This speaker series was supported by the Katherine Porikos Koopmans Lectureship, whose endowment was established to honour the memory of the late Katherine Porikos Koopmans. The lectureship supports distinguished visiting speakers presenting a lecture on psychosocial oncology and was managed by Dr. Linda Carlson, Division of Psychosocial Oncology, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary.
