About Us
The Physics and Astronomy Isotope Science Lab, founded in 1971, is one of three labs that make up the Isotope Science Lab here at the University of Calgary. Through the use of the lab facilities, such as our mass spectrometers and clean room, our lab is able to work both independently and in partnerships to further research in using isotopic analysis to study a range of different physical processes.
Our current projects are applicable to the fields of medical and environmental science, although our work has applications in many fields, from chemistry to archaeology. With the newest facility currently under construction at the Foothills campus, we hope to continue furthering our understanding of the world we live in, but also to create new and exciting opportunities for curious individuals alike.
