REFRACTORY POST-CONCUSSION SYMPTOMS IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS PRESENTING FOR SPECIALIZED CARE IN A TERTIARY HOSPITAL: A LONGITUDINAL OBSERVATIONAL STUDY

Description: The goal of this research is to document the severity and duration of post-concussion symptoms in all children and adolescents receiving specialized care at Alberta Children’s Hospital. This  project focus on answering four questions.

1. What is the severity and profile of post-concussion symptoms in youth who have poor recovery from concussion?

2. How do post-concussion symptoms change over time as a child receives care and treatment at Alberta Children’s Hospital?

3. What pre-injury factors are associated with refractory post-concussion symptoms?

4. How do refractory post-concussion symptoms relate to quality of life as the child receives care at ACH?

Project years: 2018-present
