Guiding Principles
The program will be translational, moving from bench (e.g., basic research, animal models) to bedside and community (e.g., randomized controlled trials, population health research) and back again, with substantial collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and community stakeholders at all levels.
The program will treat every patient as a research participant. A standard set of data will be collected from all individuals evaluated or treated for concussion or mild TBI. The research will be both patient- and family-centered.
The program will establish standardized methods of assessment and management that both foster research and improve the quality of clinical care. Research findings will be translated into clinical pathways to promote the best outcomes.
