Pallavi Mandke C.V.
We are happy to introduce Pallavi as the Coordinator of the Project's CP and EIA focus
areas. Her zeal and quest for learning have kept her well ahead in academics where she
received her first Master's Degree in Development and Planning from the University of
Pune, India, and her second Master's in Urban Environmental Management (UEM) from the
Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. She has worked for two and a half years in the NGO
sector, with experience in planning and project proposals, lobbying with the local
government, networking with NGOs for urban infrastructure activities, and community work
with women and youth groups.
Her Master's research in UEM has been on "Developing a Strategy to Increase
Participation of Hotels in Environmental Management Programs." In the field of
environmental management she is interested in working on tourism issues. She is already
making great contributions to the CUC UEM Project and is sure to become a great asset in
the months to come. Pallavi can be contacted at: pallavi@ait.ac.th

Pawinee Sunalai
We are pleased to present "Jib" as Coordinator of the Project's Sustainable
Tourism and Urban Transportation focus areas. A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Jib has been
studying and working in the environmental field for many years. She earned her B.Sc.
(Material Science, Chulalongkorn University) in 1996 and followed this with over a year of
related professional experience, before enrolling in the UEM Program at AIT. She graduated
with her Master's in August 1999, having completed her research into industrial estate air
quality control systems in Thailand. During the course of her Master's degree, she was
able to contribute some of her time to the Tourism demonstration projects, and she enjoyed
it so much she agreed to join the Project full time!
Jib is very interested in the areas of tourism and sustainable environmental
management, and sees her work with the CUC as a great opportunity to learn and expand both
her own horizons and those of the TTTP as well. The CUC certainly concurs, and looks
forward to many fruitful projects with her. In her leisure time, Jib likes playing
badminton and tennis, and travelling to other provinces beaches or mountains are
both fine! Jib can be contacted at: pawinee@ait.ac.th
