Academic support

Do you need help with your academics – such as with writing, online learning, or deciding what program to take? The Student Success Centre can help. You can make an appointment by phone or email, talk to someone immediately using their virtual front desk – or even ask grammar and citation questions online.

Remote programming

There are many remote services available to support you as a UCalgary student during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Enrolment Services

Enrolment Services and the Office of the Registrar are available to support all UCalgary students by phone at 403.210.7625 (call 1.855.246.7625 toll-free in Canada and the US) or by connecting with our virtual reception desk.  They're available during their regular business hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

International student support

International Student Services is offering advising through Zoom and email. If you are an international students requiring assistance, email iss@ucalgary.ca from your UCalgary email account, and an ISS advisor will respond. You can also visit the ISS FAQs here.

Indigenous student support

Writing Symbols Lodge is offering academic advising, as well as culturally-relevant spiritual and wellness support online. You can book an appointment by emailing staff at writingsymbolslodge@ucalgary.ca. Prospective Indigenous students can also access ISAP advising by contacting isap@ucalgary.ca.

Career Services

Book a phone or Zoom appointment with Career Services through  CareerLink. You can use eReviews for resume reviews over email, view Career Clips any time and access online resources on career development, job search and degree profiles.

Faith and Spirituality Centre

The Faith and Spirituality Centre (FSC) is posting tips and resources weekly on their Instagram and Facebook pages. If you’re signed up for their bi-weekly newsletter, you will continue to receive that. The FSC is also hosting weekly sessions on Zoom. Please visit their website to view what is available online.

Faith representatives are also available for one-on-one support through zoom or phone, please visit FSC's contact page to connect with a chaplain directly.

Women’s Resource Centre (WRC)

The WRC virtual front desk is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. where you can access peer support or speak to staff.

Leadership and Student Engagement

Co-curricular involvement advising appointments are available through Zoom, video or phone call. You can book an appointment with an advisor on the Involvement Portal. You can still maintain your Co-Curricular Record and schedule Involvement Advising appointments by emailing involve@ucalgary.ca.

You can access the UCalgary Gallup Portal. Complete a new CliftonStrengths Inventory ny requesting a code, if you already have, check-out your results, action planning guides and unique Strengths information.

Student Accessibility Services

Students can reach Student Accessibility Services by phone at 403.220.8237 or over email at access@ucalgary.ca. Contact information for each advisor is on the SAS website.

Sexual Violence Support Advocate

The Sexual Violence Support Advocate can be reached at svsa@ucalgary.ca. You can find a full list of community resources on the sexual violence support website.

Student Ombuds

The university’s Student Ombuds is available for phone meetings. You can schedule an appointment online at ucalgary.ca/ombuds. You can also leave a message at 403.220.6420 or email ombuds@ucalgary.ca.

Libraries and cultural resources

The Taylor Digital Family Library (TFDL)'s first and second floors are open with limited computers and study spaces for students to book. You can access one-on-one support and many library resources remotely. A chat feature allows you to consult with a librarian. All electronic resources are available 24/7. Zoom

All classes require a unique password to enter them on Zoom. Make sure you know your password before your classes begin. Learn how to join a Zoom meeting in D2L. For a list of FAQs related to Zoom, visit this page.

You can add or change your preferred name in your Student Centre (my.ucalgary.ca). These changes will take up to 48 hours to reflect in Zoom and Teams.

Note: If you had IT manually change your Zoom name in the past, that name will no longer be displayed. You’ll need to add/update your preferred name in your Student Centre. Learn more on UCalgary's Zoom guidelines page.
