Cultural Diversity in the Classroom through Games
In collaboration with educators in the Calgary Public Library, Calgary Board of Education and Calgary Arts Academy, an associate professor in the Werklund School of Education is looking at cultural pluralism in the classroom. This research project, supported by an SSHRC Insights grant, explores the use of tabletop games as a tool for incorporating cultural diversity in the classroom. Learn more.

Exploring Global Challenges
Through the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning, undergraduate students can take the Global Challenges course (UNIV401). This course encourages students to explore complex global issues, ask important questions and solve problems that mean something to them. In the coming academic year, students will explore a range of topics related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Learn more.
Experiential Learning in Sustainability
Campus as a Learning Lab is an innovative initiative with a focus on experiential learning and fostering a campus culture rooted in sustainability. Through the program, UCalgary students, faculty and staff members can use the campus as a lab to test and model innovative sustainability practices, leveraging its research, academic and operations functions. In the 2019-20 year, over 770 students participated in the program. Learn more.
