Sponsor a Patient and Community Engagement (PaCER) Team

The Patient and Community Engagement Research (PaCER) program, based at the University of Calgary, Continuing Education and supported by the Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit (AbSPORU), works towards transforming the role of patients in health system research, practice, planning and policy with the aim to create more sustainable and effective person-centered care. At the conclusion of the Program, PaCER Sponsors will receive a final report to inform future research priorities and/or to provide evidence to change health care practice, planning or policy.

SPONSOR INFORMATION: 

PaCER Sponsor roles include:

  • Supporting the recruitment of patient and community members for your team
  • Providing funding and a qualitative research topic for your team
  • Providing specific contextual information to the team throughout the 3 courses
  • Using results from the study to inform future research priorities or to provide evidence to change health care practice, planning or policy.

  • Supporting the recruitment of patient and community members for your team
  • Providing specific contextual information and feedback to the team throughout the 3 courses
  • Streamlining communication between PaCER learners, Sponsor, and PaCER facilitators

PaCER TEAMS 

PaCER teams are 4–6 learners who are part of a sponsored team, learning and working together to conduct patient and community-centered, participatory health research. Team members are required to have a personal computer and internet access. It is strongly encouraged that the learners joining PaCER have the ability to collaborate as part of a team as well as possess a basic level of digital literacy.  

Are you interested in a live online presentation from the PaCER team to recruit potential PaCER learners for your project?


 

FINANCES 

The sponsor fees for a program team of 4-6 patient and community learners is $45,000.
