In order to identify novel metal-containing metabolites/metal-complexes our group has a close relationship with the Core Analytical Chemistry Lab of the Department of Chemistry.
Collaborators
To structurally characterize relevant metal-complexes we collaborate with Drs. Graham N. George and Ingrid J. Pickering (University of Saskatchewan) who are affiliated with the Canadian Light Source and have critical X-ray absorption spectroscopy expertise.
Equipment
Sample Preparation
For the digestion of biological samples and reference materials we use a state-of-the-art microwave digestion system SP-D (CEM).
Instrumentation
We operate a variety of hyphenated analytical instrumentation including HPLC-FAAS, HPLC-ICP-AES and have access to an ICP-MS instrument.
