A Novel Lensless Miniature Contact Imaging System for Monitoring Calcium Changes in Live Neurons tested with Lymnaea stagnalis neurons and can resolve fluorescence at 340nm and 380nm excitation light and monitor variations in the fluorescent signal 30?m spatial resolution

The neurons were loaded with Fura-2 calcium dye and excited with a high KCl stimulus. Fluorescence from a single neuron in grayscale and pseudocolor prior to KCl stimulus, at the peak of the stimulus and when returned to basal levels of calcium.
