REDEVELOPMENT PLAN 

Thousands of awe-struck spectators gathered above Bridgeland on October 4, 1998, to say good-bye to the old General Hospital. The Bow Valley Centre project provides enormous potential to build a strong community that is socially and economically viable.  

The community of Bridgeland-Riverside is a great place to live. Its proximity to downtown, its small community atmosphere, and friendly shops provide for a unique quality of life for Calgary residents.

The Redevelopment Concept Plan 

The Redevelopment Concept Plan represents extensive examination and evaluation of community and City needs, goals, and wishes.  The concept seeks to improve the commercial and residential areas and introduce a number of ideas to guide improvements.  The plan provides direction for commercial and residential development, yet maintains flexibility to ensuring long-term community sustainability.
