Vibrational Circular Dichroism

Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD) measures the response of a chiral molecule to circularly polarised radiation in the infrared region of the spectrum.   It is the IR analog of ECD but unlike ECD, it is a ground state property and therefore calculable to high accuracy.  However, it is highly sensitive to the molecular forcefield.
