- Initiate leg swing from the hips to raise the foot up and across the body towards the opposing hand
- Take a few shuffle steps between swings
- Keep an upright chest
- Bending at the hips
- Cue "Tall hips"
- Cue "Only swing as high as you are able; foot does not need to reach your hand"
- Dynamic stretching of posterior chain (back, glutes, hamstrings)
- Increases heart and breathing rates
