3-player weave with shooting

  • Players begin in the corner in three groups (one in each of the three lanes) across the goal line. The first player in each line will be ready to participate in the exercise. The exercise will begin when the middle line passes the puck to either side. After making a pass, each player will follow their pass and fill the lane that was previously occupied. Players will then regroup at center ice, enter the offensive zone (stay onside), and then attack the net to score.
  • Keep head up
  • Progression:
    • After making a shot on net, athletes will stop at the net and receive a pass from one of the line and try to score
  • Colliding with a teammate while regrouping at speed in the neutral zone
    • Cue "Keep head up"
  • Failing to stop in front of the net
    • Cue "Prepare for rebound"
  • Increases heart and breathing rates prior to practice or game by performing a hockey-specific drill that involves the goalie
  • Encourages players to keep their head-up to avoid contact with other players in a tight space.
