A. FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS
Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.4 Graduation.
B. MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS
Students must successfully complete a minimum of 8.0 and a maximum of 10.0 full-course equivalents in the Field of Latin American Studies while fulfilling the following requirements:
1. Core Courses: Latin American Studies 201, 203, 301, 303, 401; General Studies 300.
2. Research Methodology: General Studies 313.
3. Language: 2.0 full-course equivalents in language courses in either Spanish or Portuguese.
4. Latin American Studies Options: an additional 2.0 full-course equivalents chosen from the list of “Courses with a Focus on Latin America” from within the Field of Latin American Studies.
C. DEGREE OPTIONS
The BA in Latin American Studies can be taken with Cooperative Education. See section 3.4.5 Co-operative Education Programs for information and requirements.
Notes:
- Only one of Spanish 421 and 423 can be counted toward the Major.
- With Faculty approval, students who are unable to participate in the field-school course, Latin American Studies 301 for health or financial reasons may substitute an advanced seminar in their major area of concentration.
