Code of Conduct

The university's mission of teaching, research and service to community requires a shared commitment to the core values of the university as well as a commitment to conduct university activities ethically. The purpose of this policy is to communicate the university's expectations with respect to the behaviour of employees, academic staff members, students, postdoctoral scholars and appointees.

Protected Disclosure Procedure

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy

The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy took effect on June 1, 2017. This standalone policy addresses sexual and gender-based violence and applies to all members of the university community - including students, faculty and staff - and operates alongside other applicable university policies and procedures.

Workplace Violence Policy (Health, Safety, and Environment)

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that workers understand that Workplace Violence is considered to be a serious offence and will not be tolerated, those subjected to Workplace Violence have access to assistance in order to pursue a complaint, and those subjected to or aware of Workplace Violence are advised of available recourse.

Workplace Accommodation Policy 

The purpose of this policy is to formally recognize the University’s Duty to Accommodate Academic Staff Members, Postdoctoral Scholars, Graduate Student Staff Members and Employees, in its role as an employer, under the Alberta Human Rights Act.  It facilitates arrangements that eliminate barriers to ensure that those who are otherwise able to work are not excluded from doing so based on a Protected Ground.
