The Students’ Union’s Q Centre offers a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. With a library and peer support services, program coordinators and volunteers organize events and connect visitors with necessary resources.

OUTLaw UCalgary

OUTLaw, Calgary Chapter: The LGBTQIAA+ UCalgary Law Students’ Association serves as a social, educational, and political platform for LGBTQIAA+ individuals and their allies, facilitating discussions and networking opportunities while promoting awareness within the legal field and the broader community. OUTLaw provides a safe space for the LGBTQIAA+ community to connect, support one another, and foster inclusive and positive attitudes toward sexual orientation and gender identity.

The GSA Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA^2) Subcommittee aims to enrich the lives and graduate school experiences of 2SLGBTQIAP+ members through various events. This includes those who identify as Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, agender, asexual, aromantic, pansexual, and all other gender and sexually diverse identities.

Affirming Connections

Affirming Connections strengthens and amplifies the affirming voices and actions of fully inclusive faith and spiritual communities and people in Central and Southern Alberta and beyond. Together, they proactively reach out and work alongside allies and individuals in the LGBTQ2S+ community. 

They value activism in the public square and offer educational and advocacy opportunities to those seeking to become more inclusive and Affirming, and support and resources to those seeking to accept their own queer and faith identities.

Skipping Stone is an organization that focuses on providing a positive, affirming space for trans and gender-diverse individuals that is free from barriers, stigma, and discrimination. They provide trans and gender-diverse youth and adults with comprehensive and low-barrier access to the support they need and deserve.

The Centre for Sexuality is an organization created in 1972 that focuses on sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientations, equality, and consent. It has various resources and offers training, education, and counseling services to individuals and organizations on achieving healthy relationships and advocating for healthy sexuality.

Calgary Queer Arts Society was formally known as Fairy Tales Presentation Society and is a nonprofit organization that gives voice to queer people and their stories. They work with artists to support their visions and use art as a storytelling medium to humanize social justice issues through a queer lens and provide opportunities for learning, community, and celebration in Calgary.

Outreels is an organization that provides education and training to businesses and communities to help them be the best allies and make themselves and their workplaces more inclusive. Tools and language can empower individuals to act as allies and identify places to reduce barriers, assumptions, and stereotypes.

OutLink

Outlink is Calgary’s Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity, a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing support, education, outreach, and referrals for the 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied communities in Calgary, Alberta. It promotes and supports community connectedness for all genders and sexually diverse people.

The TESA, or Trans Equality Society of Alberta, is a non-profit advocacy group that is a witness to and a voice for matters concerning trans-Albertans. They engage in advocacy and education in government, outreach, and community development to support and promote trans rights.
