Biography
Morteza joined Dr. Salahub's lab in 2016 and he has been an industrial postdoc since 2018 working with Katal Energy Inc. on water, fuel emulsion and clean fuel technologies. Morteza is currently involved in lab experiments and characterisation of fuel emulsions. Morteza's research interests and expertise include:
- Multi-scale molecular modeling (DFT, DFTB, Classical force field)
- vdW interactions
- Water in fuel emulsions
- Design of experiment and data analysis
- Characterization methods (GC-MS, TGA, NMR, FTIR, Raman, FTMS, etc)
- Studying nano-emulsions using force-field and first-principles atomistic simulations
- Mechanics of nano-structured materials
- Numerical programming using Fortran and Python
- Heterogeneous catalytic reactions using molecular modelings
