Biography

Lizandra Barrios Herrera is currently a Ph.D. student at the Prof. Dennis Salahub group, in the Chemistry's Department at the University of Calgary. She completed a Bachelor degree in Nuclear Engineer in 2010, and a Master of Sciences degree in 2013, both at the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Sciences, Havana, Cuba. Lizandra's area of research involves the use of computational chemistry and quantum mechanics to investigate the role of Ni-Ceria nanocatalysts in a novel Aquaproccessing technology for the upgrading of heavy and extra-heavy oil.
