Biography

Jiri Hostas is a postdoctoral associate working at the Centre For Molecular Simulation based at the University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada. He studied computational chemistry at Charles University in Prague, where he obtained his Ph.D. with Pavel Hobza in 2017. Since then, he spents his postdoctoral study with D. R. Salahub at the University of Calgary. He is a computational chemist interested mainly in non-covalent interactions and he is working on development of methods able to describe partial heavy oil upgrading, accurate calculations of host-guest systems, and application of machine learning algorithms in chemistry. He has published more than 10 papers on these and related topics.
