Commercial Typology
Different typologies can create positive urban qualities and create a sense of place. Within the community of Parkdale the four major commercial sites were studied to determine their attributes and how they affect the community. Opportunities, problems, existing function and characteristics were determined and explored. The eight small images below link to a larger image with the analysis within the image. The spatial analysis looks at issues like parcel sizes, street linkage, building massing, vehicle/pedestrian circulation and access. The use analysis looks at issues like existing commercial usage and interactions with the community.
